MUSIC TO FEED YOUR SOUL

Cornell “CC” Carter, born in Berkeley, California, and raised in San Francisco, has spent many years performing and recording as a professional singer and songwriter. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with legendary artists such as James Brown, Ray Charles, and Sly and the Family Stone. He has also had the honour of recording and performing with Grammy Award-winning producer and close friend Narada Michael Walden, as well as the iconic Carlos Santana.

Renowned for his soulful voice and impressive vocal range, from baritone to first tenor, CC Carter continues to captivate audiences with his passion and artistry. In 2016, his album In The Moment introduced him to a new international audience. The following year, he showcased his versatility with Vindicated Soul, a collection of classic covers paying tribute to artists including Al Green and Marvin Gaye. The album has since become a sought-after collector’s item worldwide.

In 2018, his major release One Love featured the hit single That Feeling and its follow-up That’s My Baby, both of which earned him several international awards. His achievements were further recognised when he was named New Artist of the Year at the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards.

CC Carter is proudly signed to Expansion Records, a label renowned for championing the finest in soul, funk, and jazz music. With their support, he continues to share his passion for soul music with audiences across the globe.

MY MUSIC

In 2019, Cornell “CC” Carter’s album ‘ABSOLUTELY’ became an instant success, achieving UK Soul Chart #1 hits with ‘Say Yes’ and ‘I See Love.’ The album was also under consideration for a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance and Album of the Year.

During the 2020 lockdown period, Cornell, alongside producer Kirk KC Crumpler and Dave Shul, began work on his fifth album in six years—’NEXT LIFE.’ Reflecting on his inspiration, he shared: “I have always been intrigued by the spirituality of ancient Egypt (Kemet) and the golden age of art and creativity it represents. I wanted to channel that essence into songs that deeply resonate with my life and the mysteries beyond our understanding. Artists like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder have profoundly influenced me, and, God willing, I will continue their great legacy.

see me live

CC is dedicated to sharing his talents with aspiring artists, which led him and his team to establish CDC Productions – his own production company aimed at supporting these artists in achieving their dreams, while also teaching them the time and commitment required to reach their goals. Over the past few years, Cornell has been involved with numerous charities and non-profit organisations. His vision is to continue uplifting others and using his platform to raise standards, as well as to bring greater awareness to the legacy of Real Soul Music.
